Garcia’s team statement stressed that Ryan has never purposefully taken banned substances and has always upheld a commitment to fair play. They highlighted his clean testing history throughout his career, with several negative test results leading up to the Haney fight. The extremely low levels of ostarine found, coupled with a clean hair sample, indicate contamination rather than deliberate consumption.
Despite testing positive for ostarine in two VADA drug tests associated with the Haney fight, Garcia has continued to proclaim his innocence. Ostarine is a prohibited substance that has been implicated in contaminated supplement incidents in combat sports previously.
