Terrence Crawford vs. Israel Madrimov has been confirmed as an official fight.

Recently announced, Crawford, the 147-pound champion and pound-for-pound leader, is set to move up in weight to challenge the WBA 154-pound titleholder on August 3 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

The Riyadh season will mark the primary promoter’s inaugural event outside Saudi Arabia.

“We are thrilled that Riyadh Season is hosting its first international event in Los Angeles. This U.S. match is a significant moment,” stated His Excellency Turki Alarusik, Chairman of the General Entertainment Board of Directors.

“We desire to provide people worldwide with the chance to relish the Riyadh Season experience, and this event, both present and future ones globally, will help us achieve just that.”

Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) has already secured world titles at 135, 140, and 147 pounds and now aims to clinch major belts in four weight divisions.

Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, the 36-year-old hasn’t stepped into the ring since July 29 of the previous year, when he impressively halted fellow pound-for-pound standout Errol Spence Jr. in seven rounds during a 147-pound title unification bout. He currently boasts four welterweight belts.

“I am eagerly anticipating my return to the ring in my fourth division to reaffirm to the world why I reign as the best pound-for-pound fighter globally,” stated Crawford. “Israel Madrimov is a phenomenal and entertaining fighter, but come August 3rd, he will be my next conquest. This is the era of Terrence Crawford.”

Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs) secured a victory over Magomed Kurbanov in five rounds on March 8 and was named the “inactive champion” by Jermell Charlo in the match against Canelo Alvarez, winning the vacant WBA title.

The Uzbek fighter, based in California, is thrilled to challenge the top talent in the industry.

“Terrence Crawford is one of my favorite boxers and among the best in the world,” he expressed. “I am very excited to showcase my abilities and make a statement. God willing, I will succeed.”

Several renowned fighters are slated to feature on the undercard. The lineup includes:

  • Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz vs. Jose Valenzuela, junior welterweight (Cruz’s WBA title defense)
  • Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Jarrell Miller, heavyweight
  • David Morrell vs. Radivoje Kalajdzic, light heavyweight
  • Andy Cruz vs. Antonio Moran, lightweight

Isaac Cruz (26-2-1, 18 KOs) claimed the belt on March 30th via a remarkable 8th round knockout of Rolando Romero.

Luis (35-2, 22 KOs) will make his comeback since September 2022, where the former champion knocked down Luis Ortiz thrice to secure a unanimous decision victory.
