Keith Thurman is looking forward to facing Tim Tzu in a 12-round main event match on March 30th on Amazon Prime PPV.
Having been out of the ring for 25 months, there are concerns about Thurman’s readiness due to his long break from training and competition.
Thurman’s dominance in boxing may be a thing of the past.
Over the last seven years, Thurman’s inactivity and lack of challenging opponents have put him at a significant disadvantage against the younger, fitter, and more active Tzu.
It’s hard to believe that Thurman was once considered the top welterweight boxer globally and a highly anticipated rising star in the sport.
Regrettably, injuries, lack of training, and a lack of motivation saw Thurman’s potential go untapped; instead, he spent most of his recent years in Florida, largely forgotten by fans.
Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs) has expressed confidence in being able to overpower WBO junior middleweight champion Tszyu (24-0, 17 KOs) by landing significant blows and securing a victory.
The former WBA/WBC welterweight champion remains steadfast in his belief that he will not be defeated and eagerly anticipates testing Tszyu’s skills when they clash at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
This fight might not end well for Thurman.

Thurman maintains the self-assured demeanor he possessed a decade ago when he was younger, hungrier, and ambitious. Losing doesn’t seem to dent his ego, does it?
In reality, Thurman appears to be a stepping stone for Tszyu, who sees him as a means to enhance his reputation by adding Thurman’s name to his list of conquests.
“Yes, I am the welterweight champion, and that should give him some additional confidence,” Thurman remarked. “He’s a larger individual. Tim Tszyu is not as skilled. He’s not a clever fighter. I think he’s looking to unleash an old-school style against me.”
Thurman seems disconnected from reality as he tries to convince fans that he still ranks among the sport’s elite, despite only competing three times since 2017, with his lone defeat being against the 40-year-old Manny Pacquiao, who was his most formidable opponent thus far. It all seems a bit desperate.
“I am eagerly anticipating my showdown with Tim Tzu. Let him make a mistake, and he will pay the price,” Thurman declared.
