At MMA Fighting, our expert team regularly assesses and ranks the top fighters in the dynamic world of MMA. Our Global Rankings present a definitive list of the finest fighters in each weight class, and we also update the pound-for-pound rankings. The month of July witnessed significant shifts in various divisions. Belal Muhammad emerged as the new welterweight champion, Kyoji Horiguchi showcased his dominance in two weight classes yet again, and Alexander Volkov stirred up the heavyweight rankings. Standout performances from Nassourdine Imavov and Macy Chiasson earned them spots in the top five rankings, while Muhammad Mokaev and Manel Kape slipped following a subpar fight. The standout moment, however, was Tom Aspinall’s rise as the top heavyweight after a decisive win against Curtis Blaydes. Despite having the interim label on his title and with the impending Jones-Miocic showdown, Aspinall is currently the fighter to beat in the heavyweight division. With all seven panelists ranking him as No. 1 and Jones losing his ranking hold, all attention is now on Jones to see if he can reclaim his position. View the complete rankings for July below.
