Tom Aspinall is determined to become the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion by challenging Jon Jones, but he understands that this matchup might never materialize. Despite his impressive UFC track record of eight wins with most fights ending in the first round, Aspinall currently holds the interim heavyweight title while Jones is gearing up to defend his championship against Stipe Miocic in November.

Although Aspinall suspects that Jones might retire after his bout with Miocic, he desires to establish himself as the undeniable champion inside the octagon. Even though Jones has not officially accepted a fight against Aspinall, the interim champion is confident that he can force Jones into retirement without ever needing to battle him.

While Jones has shown interest in fighting Miocic, Aspinall believes that neither of them truly deserves a shot at the heavyweight title at the moment. Aspinall firmly believes that he is the world’s best heavyweight fighter and is displeased with the lesser recognition he receives compared to Jones.

Aspinall is ready to act as an alternative fighter for the Jones vs. Miocic matchup and is willing to step in at short notice if required. He acknowledges that he might undergo an entire training camp without stepping into the ring, but he views it as a worthwhile gamble to validate his claim as the rightful heavyweight champion.

Above all, Aspinall’s primary focus is to establish himself as the top heavyweight globally and is ready to take actions that Jones may not consider to prove his supremacy.
