In February, there was a major change in leadership at TNA Wrestling with the departure of long-time executive Scott D’Amore, who had been the President. Anthony Cicione from Anthem Sports & Entertainment, TNA’s parent company, took over as the new President. TNA producer Tommy Dreamer discussed the company’s new leadership and the upcoming Slammiversary event during a segment on “Busted Open Radio.”
Dreamer mentioned that the new management has been collaborating well with the talent and is pushing the company in a positive direction. He also commended the strong presale for Slammiversary, noting that it is one of the largest they have ever experienced and is expected to sell out the 4,000 seat venue in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Following D’Amore’s exit, TNA Wrestling President Anthony Cicione stated that the change aimed to further integrate TNA Wrestling into Anthem’s Entertainment Group. D’Amore had a longstanding history with TNA, starting in 2003 as a road agent and holding various roles within the company. Before leaving, TNA Wrestling collaborated with WWE to have TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace participate in the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match. This partnership continues under the new leadership, with Grace scheduled to challenge WWE NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez at “NXT” Battleground on June 9.
