Former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson faced a lopsided decision defeat against Paddy Pimblett at UFC 296. The promotion’s CEO Dana White urged him to retire, but Ferguson has called on his fans and supporters to “keep the faith.”

Ferguson, who has been a perennial contender in the lightweight division, appeared on the main card of UFC 296 in Las Vegas and suffered a lopsided decision loss to Pimblett, ending his seven-fight losing streak.

This loss marked Ferguson’s second defeat since the summer, following a submission loss to Bobby Green at UFC 291 in July.

Following the defeat, White expressed his desire for Ferguson to retire, citing his performance and demeanor in the fight.

Ferguson responded to the loss by thanking his fans and supporters and encouraging them to “keep the faith.”

In a post on his blog, Ferguson wrote: “Love your fans and supporters, they’re all shit.” Official Instagram Story. “I saw a lot of you tonight, but to all the midfielders, keep the faith. Step ahead of the other guys and remember I said crew, champions.”
