After a 16-year hiatus from the professional wrestling scene, Tony Schiavone made a successful comeback with MLW followed by his transition to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2019. In his role as a commentator and backstage interviewer at AEW, Schiavone has had the chance to reconnect with former associates and forge new alliances with emerging talents.
On a recent episode of the “What Happened When” podcast, Schiavone commended several individuals for their outstanding professionalism towards him.
“These individuals are the epitome of professionalism – Adam Copeland, Samoa Joe, and Orange Cassidy, among others,” Schiavone remarked. “They consistently deliver when called upon and are a pleasure to collaborate with. I am truly thankful for the opportunity to work alongside individuals of their caliber.”
Samoa Joe and Orange Cassidy are presently active competitors in AEW, whereas Copeland is currently on the sidelines due to a fractured tibia he suffered during the 2024 Double or Nothing pay-per-view event. Despite his injury, Copeland managed to defend the TNT Championship against Malakai Black before relinquishing the title. A new champion will be crowned at the upcoming Forbidden Door event, with Copeland’s return to the ring remaining uncertain.
