Ever since WWE’s focus has shifted towards younger talent in “NXT,” Trick Williams has emerged as a standout performer. Initially known for being Carmelo Hayes’ enforcer, Williams has now risen to prominence as the leading hero in “NXT” in 2024. He achieved victory over Hayes and his rival Ilja Dragunov to claim the NXT Championship.
According to Williams, his accomplishments wouldn’t have been possible without him advocating for himself behind the scenes. During a recent interview on “Busted Open Radio,” Williams discussed his discussions with “NXT” boss Shawn Michaels regarding his desire for more opportunities to exhibit his talents. His unwavering drive to succeed on his own terms motivated him to request additional TV time and matches.
“My primary worry is falling short of my potential,” Williams revealed. “I wouldn’t forgive myself if I didn’t strive to reach my objectives. I’d rather take the risk of failure than not have the chance at all.”
In his next title defense at NXT Battleground, Williams will take on Ethan Page. Page recently ambushed Williams and joined “NXT” with a contract that guarantees him a shot at the NXT Champion title.
