In a recent appearance on the Furocity podcast, Tyson Fury confessed that his fight against Oleksandr Usyk turned out to be less challenging than he had expected. Although he ultimately lost a decision to Usyk, Fury came close to hitting the canvas during their 12-round undisputed heavyweight championship bout. Fury attributed his defeat to being too caught up in enjoying himself while in the ring, admitting that he was having too much fun. He shared how he landed numerous punch combinations and even laughed at Usyk during the course of the fight. While known for his outspoken nature, Fury admitted that he may have been overly relaxed during the match.
The upcoming rematch between Fury and Usyk scheduled for December has generated significant buzz, with Fury intent on achieving a knockout victory this time around. He expressed frustration at the notion of needing a knockout to win, considering that winning by decision is already no easy feat. Despite his confident demeanor, Team Usyk is not taking Fury lightly, acknowledging Usyk’s impressive skills displayed in their initial encounter. Fury recognizes the formidable task that lies ahead in the rematch but remains positive and eager to square off against Usyk once more.
