The result was disappointing.

Tai Tuivasa suffered his fifth consecutive loss at UFC 305 on Saturday, August 17, 2024, when Jairzinho Rozenstruik defeated the popular Heavyweight fighter in a closely contested split decision at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.

The fight was largely uneventful and considered the weakest on the pay-per-view card, but it caused some controversy.

Despite Rozenstruik clearly outperforming Tuivasa, MMA judge Howie Booth controversially scored the bout 30-27 in Tuivasa’s favor.

Sports reporter Kevin Iole mentioned that Booth was initially assigned to judge the co-main event featuring Kai Kara-France and Steve Erceg but was replaced before the fight. UFC broadcaster Jon Anik confirmed this during the broadcast and announced Booth’s removal from judging duties.

Here is the controversial scorecard:

MMA judging frequently faces criticism at almost every event, and Booth’s scorecard has now been labeled the worst in UFC history.

While there have been contentious decisions in the past, Booth’s 30-27 score is seen as particularly glaring, leading to demands for him to be barred from judging future fights.

Thankfully, the Australia Combat Sports Commission intervened to ensure Booth would not be judging any upcoming fights.
