The upcoming Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition, the Craig Jones Invitational (CJI), is creating excitement ahead of its debut next weekend (Aug. 16-17, 2024) at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. This event is gaining attention as it coincides with the renowned ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship, also happening in Las Vegas around the same time.
Several fighters, including UFC women’s Strawweight contender Mackenzie Dern, have opted to join CJI instead of ADCC because of the better payouts. Dern mentioned that the substantial cash prize offered by CJI played a crucial role in her decision to take part in the competition.
Craig Jones, the mastermind behind CJI, has decided to offer an impressive $1 million prize money in each bracket, drawing in numerous ADCC champions and top-level fighters to participate in CJI. Dern is gearing up to compete against the defending ADCC gold medalist Ffion Davies in a super fight during the event.
