The highly anticipated faceoff between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler at UFC 303 is currently in a delicate position.

The main event of UFC 303 recently encountered a setback when a scheduled press conference in Dublin was unexpectedly postponed, leading to speculations about the status of the McGregor vs. Chandler bout. There are reports indicating that the UFC is considering backup plans for their headline event during International Fight Week.

Initially, McGregor and Chandler were set to clash on June 29 in Las Vegas. However, MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani revealed on a recent episode of The MMA Hour that the fight may not proceed as anticipated.

Helwani shared, “There was a sense of relief before, a sense that things were looking up… but as of Wednesday, 1:15, that optimism from just a week ago has vanished. I can comfortably say that the fight is currently facing uncertainty. It is hanging by a thread, and the UFC is actively seeking an alternative plan.”

Although the exact reasons causing obstacles in the fight are not clear, sources have disclosed that the McGregor vs. Chandler match is at risk due to a concern involving McGregor. The UFC is exploring various avenues to resolve the situation, but with UFC 303 looming in the near future, finding suitable replacements on short notice remains a challenge.
