Eye of the Tiger has signed undefeated Cuban-born, Germany-based Oslais Iglesias to a promotional deal, it announced on Tuesday.
The Montreal-based promotional organization is already deeply invested in the 168-pound division, promoting Christian Mbili and Eric Bazignan, who are ranked No. 2 and No. 6 in the super middleweight division by The Ring.
Camille Estefan from Eye of the Tiger acknowledged Iglesias’ talent (9-0, 8 knockouts) and expressed excitement about his rapid development, saying, “I’m very happy because Iglesias is a very special talent. When you can sign a talent like that, you jump on it. He is very serious, has a good team around him and has given us another weapon in one of the most prestigious divisions in martial arts, super middleweight. We are very happy. He has the potential to be a superstar.”
The plan is for Iglesias to make his EEOT debut in the first quarter of 2024.
Iglesias began his professional career in Germany in 2019 after a successful amateur career. In just his sixth fight, he dominated experienced veteran Isaac Chilemba (UD 12) and blitzed perennial favorite Ezequiel Maderna (KO 1).
The 25-year-old southpaw impressively stopped Andrii Velikovsky (TKO 10) and most recently defeated undefeated Artur Reis to end a 10-month hiatus (KO 4).
