A pair of experienced UFC fighters are set to take part in a special event in Abu Dhabi just before the UFC arrives in the United Arab Emirates in August. ADXC has revealed that Urijah Faber will be the main attraction at ADXC 5 where he will compete against Bibiano Fernandes in a no-gi match. Additionally, Chad Mendes will go up against Kevin Lee in the co-main event.

The UFC’s Fight Night in Abu Dhabi the next day will showcase Cory Sandhagen facing off against Umar Nurmagomedov in the headline bout. The event will also include Vicente Luque vs. Nick Diaz and Tony Ferguson vs. Michael Chiesa.

Faber recently emerged victorious in a combat jiu-jitsu bout against Jeff Glover and has a strong record of winning via submissions in MMA. On the other hand, Fernandes boasts numerous titles in ONE Championship and Dream, with many of his wins coming by way of submissions.

Since departing the UFC in 2018, Mendes has been active in grappling and bare-knuckle boxing. Although Lee has had success with submission victories, he is coming off a recent defeat in the UFC.

ADXC 5 will also have a gi competition segment, with Rayron Gracie taking on Marcos Carrozzino in the headline match and Pedro Ramalho squaring off against Max Lindblad in the co-main event.
