Urijah Faber is still under contract with the UFC, even though his last fight in the octagon was in 2019. Recently, he participated in a grappling competition in Abu Dhabi and emerged victorious against Bibiano Fernandes. Faber acknowledged that while MMA may not be his top priority right now, he hasn’t completely shut the door on it and is still part of the drug testing pool. He is looking into combat jiu-jitsu as a potential avenue to showcase his skills and stay active in the sport.

Despite his hiatus from MMA since 2019, Faber is open to suitable opportunities in both the UFC and other promotions. He mentioned a willingness to engage in a boxing match with his former foe, Jose Aldo, and revealed his eagerness to continue testing himself and competing, even at the age of 45.

At present, Faber is honing his skills in grappling matches like the one against Fernandes, relishing the chance to display his abilities. He underscored his commitment to jiu-jitsu and the specialized system he has developed with Team Alpha BJJ. Despite advancing in years, Faber finds fulfillment in pushing his limits and embracing challenges in the combat sports realm.
