Manon Fiorotto advanced her case for a title shot by dominating Erin Blanchfield in the headline bout of UFC on ESPN 54 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Despite suffering her first UFC loss to Blanchfield, Fiorotto’s flawless record in the promotion remains intact. Ranked No. 5 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie women’s flyweight rankings, Fiorotto climbed two spots to No. 3.
Another standout performer is Joaquin Buckley, who entered the welterweight rankings by defeating Vicente Luque with a barrage of ground and pound strikes. With three consecutive wins after moving from middleweight, Buckley now holds the 14th spot, while Luque drops out of the rankings.
