After the conclusion of UFC 301, the USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie rankings underwent revisions. At Rio Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja successfully defended his title against challenger Steve Erceg, further securing his top spot in the division ranking.

In the co-main event, there was a notable shift in the rankings. Former UFC champion Jose Aldo marked his impressive comeback to the Octagon in his hometown by dominating Jonathan Martinez in every round, resulting in a unanimous victory. Aldo, who had briefly been out of the rankings due to retirement, re-emerged in the top 10 rankings at No. 7. Martinez, previously an honorable mention, maintained his position in the rankings.
