A gum-chewing, jacket-wearing Tyson Fury weighed in at 281 lbs, and the unified heavyweight champion scaled in at 226 lbs at Friday’s weigh-in for their DAZN PPV rematch in the main event tomorrow night on Saturday, December 21st, in Riyadh.

Fury’s weight is 21 lbs heavier than the 262 he came in for his previous bout against Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) seven months earlier on May 18th. After weighing in today, Fury threw a few air punches and looked powerful for him.

Weights Tyson Fury: 281 Oleksandr Usyk: 226

Fury Bulks Up For Rematch We don’t know if the added weight will help Fury on Saturday night or hinder him against the lighter, faster, and more athletic Usyk. We saw how the 1920s heavyweight Primo Carnera failed to use his massive 280+ lb size when fighting smaller fighters. Could this be the same situation for Fury on Saturday night? Bigger isn’t better when fighting talents like Usyk, and it could mean that Fury will make a louder noise when he hits the canvas.

“There’s going to be no surprises. Usyk is going to be brilliant. He’s brilliant every time,” said Eddie Hearn to DAZN Boxing following Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk weighing in today for their rematch. “I think a lot of this depends on what Tyson Fury brings to the fight. Last time, it was a close fight. People are talking like it was a whitewash last time. It was a very competitive fight. Tyson is going to have to do something extraordinary tomorrow night. “He’s capable of it. We’ve seen it in the past. Can he produce it tomorrow night? We’ll see. I would love to see him do it. It’s brilliant for boxing. The first fight was one of the best heavyweight fights I’ve ever seen. I’m so happy we get to see the rematch. Fury is well in it, but it’s very difficult to pick against the greatness of Oleksandr Usyk at the same time,” said Hearn.
