Oleksandr Usyk’s face is now on postage stamps, and no, this isn’t just some collector’s gimmick—it’s a bold flex ahead of his Dec. 21 DAZN PPV rematch against Tyson Fury. Ukrposhta, Ukraine’s postal service, announced the stamps will go on sale just two days before the heavyweight showdown in Saudi Arabia. Proceeds? Part of them go to Usyk’s charity fund, because knocking people out isn’t his only skill.
Ukrposhta CEO Igor Smelyansky hyped up the release on Facebook, calling Usyk “a legend of Ukrainian sports.” He added, “Usyk’s image on the stamp is a message that ‘the world loves the strong,’ and Ukrainians are famous for their courage and resilience.” Sure, stamps might not hit as hard as a left hook, but apparently, they deliver a bigger message.
And Smelyansky didn’t stop there. He poured on the praise: “Usyk has become a symbol of invincibility for millions, his victories inspire and remind us that true strength lies in fighting for what is right.” Meanwhile, Fury’s probably wondering why his face isn’t on a stamp back in Britain. Maybe they’re saving that for after the fight—if he wins.
The rematch is more than just about titles; it’s a battle for all four major heavyweight belts. Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) remains unbeaten and is practically dripping with national pride. Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs), on the other hand, is still that guy who shows up as a chaotic wildcard, singing in press conferences and somehow making it work.
