Tank Abbott, a former UFC legend, has transitioned to a quieter life as the host of his podcast, “The Proving Ground.” Back in 1995, Abbott became a prominent figure in the UFC due to his intense fighting style, which resulted in numerous impressive knockouts. Recently, he made an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience to reminisce about his time in the UFC, particularly during the era of no rules and no time limits. During his discussion, Abbott touched on his departure from the UFC and his rivalry with MMA referee ‘Big’ John McCarthy.

Following a decline in his fighting career, Abbott ventured into World Championship Wrestling, where he portrayed a character associated with the parody boy band group, 3 Count. Despite this, he continued to compete intermittently in various organizations like Strikeforce, PRIDE, EliteXC, and King of the Cage before officially retiring in 2013. While Abbott may not have replicated the same level of success he experienced during his early UFC days, his bold and aggressive fighting style remains a fond memory for fans who have followed his journey over the years.
