Cherry Hill, New Jersey – Gabriel Gerena is gearing up for his return to the boxing ring after a seven-month hiatus. The 22-year-old took a break to focus on completing his finance degree at Rutgers Business School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Following his graduation on May 9, he is now eager to resume his boxing career. Motivated by the financial challenges faced by many boxers, Gerena is considering a future as a financial analyst or retirement planner.

With a solid record of 5 wins and 4 knockouts, Gerena is excited about his upcoming six-round bout against Lyle McFarlane at Bally’s Atlantic City. While he may not know much about his opponent, Gerena trusts in his own skills and fighting technique.

Having built a successful amateur career with 130 fights starting at the age of nine, Gerena believes he is well-equipped for the professional boxing arena. He attributes his extensive experience in amateur competitions and varied fighting styles for shaping him into the fighter he is today.

For aspiring boxers juggling boxing and academics, Gerena stresses the significance of planning and effective communication. By establishing a schedule and defining goals, boxers can efficiently manage their time and commitments.
