Though not as in the limelight as it once was, the middleweight division has a rich history with boxing greats like Bob Fitzsimons, Harry Greb, and Marvin Hagler. Zhanibek Alimkhanuly, the current WBO and IBF titleholder, is set to defend his belts and perfect 15-0 record at the age of 31.

In a 12-round bout in Las Vegas, Alimkhanuly will face Andrei Mikhailovich in what promises to be an exciting matchup. While attention may be on Jaron “Boots” Ennis’ welterweight title defense, fans can watch Alimkhanuly and Mikhailovich showcase their skills in the middleweight division on ESPN+.

Alimkhanuly has made a mark in the division with his impressive southpaw jab, footwork, and knack for unleashing combinations. Having stopped 10 of his 15 opponents early, his power is not to be underestimated. Mikhailovich will have to be wary of Alimkhanuly’s potent punches, especially his dangerous uppercut, to stand a chance at victory this weekend.
